Rock You

Moments of solitude can become opportunities to reflect on ingrained social behaviors. As one of the instruments of individual manifestations, we have the body, whose use in daily life results from a process of learning techniques and behaviors that translate into socially accepted gestures. Dance becomes political when it proposes a use of the body in forms and intensities that do not correspond to the established customs and habits with the intention of perpetuating a certain status-quo. The invitation to the public to dance at home, to the sound of their favorite songs, aims to collaborate with this small rebellion that can occur in the intimate space - body and home - of each. Solo work created in 2019.

Premiere on October 20, 2019, at the Teatro Municipal de Assis, Brazil.
